My doctorate and master’s degrees are in the field of international health with a focus in human nutrition.  I have spent over fifteen years working with individuals in both the developed and developing world on health and nutrition issues.  For two decades beginning as a teenager, I gained invaluable experience caring and advocating for my father’s health as he suffered from multiple chronic conditions.  In 2003, I returned to the United States with numerous gastro-intestinal issues and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) after spending over two years living in Nepal, an impoverished country that was in the midst of a civil insurgency.  Through my healing process, I gained knowledge about and tools for healing that I have enjoyed sharing with others.  This experience was the impetus for my work as a complementary health practitioner.   

Currently, I specialize in helping individuals release stress and trauma from their bodies and minds.  In March 2011, I founded the nonprofit, Shine Alliance International, to address trauma-release among individuals living in and around Washington, D.C. who have been displaced from their homes due to abuse, intolerance, political conflict, or natural disaster.   

I am licensed as a massage therapist in Maryland and Washington, D.C.  I have received advanced bodywork training in a number of techniques from the osteopathic field, including visceral and neural manipulation and craniosacral therapy. Additionally, I am a Certified Traumatologist, a Certified Health Counselor, and a Healing Touch Certified Practitioner. I draw on a diverse array of tools and techniques to assist individuals from all walks of life lead happier, healthier, and more fulfilled lives.
