We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to you for the relieving massage you gave us yesterday at the Tassc office.

Because of good hearted people like you life has become much easier for so many who has been subjected to several sorts of abuses like torture. As much as there are sadists who cause pain to others (like our political leaders at our home country), we feel so lucky to have caring people like you who devote themselves for others.

Yesterday when you made us put our hands on each other and treat each other, we learned that giving to others is also receiving. By treating others we also get treated. That was one very good way of thought we should keep in mind in our everyday life. Indeed it was a life long lesson. We appreciate that very much.

Keep the good work you are doing for others and God bless you.

Love and respect,  F & Y, Ethiopian survivors
I believe strongly in sharing my skills with vulnerable populations.  In 2009, I began volunteering my time in two local organizations, teaching techniques for stress reduction to homeless women and offering pain relief to torture survivors through seated bodywork sessions.

In March 2011, I founded the nonprofit Shine Alliance International, Inc. to expand the breadth of my work by serving individuals who have been displaced due to abuse, intolerance, political conflict, or natural disaster.  The organization aims to support displaced individuals with reviving their spirit, health, and human rights in the wake of trauma.

My goal is to offer my bodywork skills as a means of empowering these vulnerable individuals to embrace their core strength and forge ahead in this next chapter of their lives.

Donations help to support my work with displaced individuals and allow me to reach more people.  Individual sessions are geared toward physical or emotional pain relief.
